This site allows you to create a more professional looking book.

Mixbook offers a “scrapbook” look while my e-book creates an actual book.

I could use this site to create presentations, if powerpoint wasnt an option.

Since my laptop at home doesnt have powerpoint, this is another way to create a presetation

using only the internet which is available anywhere, anytime.

Another odd thing I discovered in class today was how to create symbols such as

œ∑´®†¥¨ˆøπåß∂ƒ©˙∆˚¬Ω≈ç√∫˜µ≤≥÷

using only the keyboard..

How you ask?

Well its simple..

Hold down the option key and press any button on the keyboard..

I have had a chance to look at other digital story websites that were found

in the exploration folder on blackboard. I like the site myplick.com.

Another easy way to tell a story using an online program.

Another website we looked at was animoto.com

This website allows you to put together pictures in a fashion similar to a slide show.

You can add music and the website does the rest for you.

I personally don’t like this website as much as I have mixbook.

Animoto gives you limited options for speed and transitions

however, it is quick and easy and very professional looking.

I beleive our group is going to do our story using this tool instead of powerpoint because you can flip through the pages like an actual book and its more interesting and easy to use.

My slideshow is quite exciting. There are four general topics and in each topic it includes a one question quiz. I’ve added links that proceed to different pages and some fun clipart i found on the web. I used alot of things we learned to do in class and some things that i already knew how to do.

This project to me was fun and somewhat time consuming because i couldnt make up my mind about which action i wanted and what transition and things like that. There are so many to choose from and usually a particular movement in the slide brings focus so you have to choose wisely.

Since I missed class last Thursday I explored prezi for the first time this week also. In my opinion, its too complicated but for others it is the most amazing thing. Click below to check out the website for yourself.

I cant beleive this semester is half over, it seems like it has just started. Im glad I have learned so much and cant wait to see whats instore for the weeks to come!

In class on Tuesday we explored zoho.com. I think this website is very complex and has alot of useful tools. Some of these tools include report pages, spreadsheets, planners and presentation applications.

I was exploring the folders for this class on blackboard and I decided to download the ‘Open Office’  program. This program is like using word. Since my computer is microsoft works this program is more familiar for others who use my computer to type documents.

Anyways, this week I can do some catching up on things that are going on in class. One of the useful tools we learned was how to narrow down a search by using quotation marks around whatever your in search for to get exact matches and more useful links. Another good place to do an online search is at delicious.com. This site allows me to look at people’s bookmarks on a wide variety of topics from nail polish to President Obama.

We also got to explore flickr.com. I usually use photobucket.com. Either website is a great place to upload photos, create slide shows or even search for other peoples pictures. Check it out!!
